Anise Cookies

In a large bowl put:
5 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons baking powder

Make a well in the center and add:
1 cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons anise extract

Mix ingredients well with a spoon. If dough is too sticky to handle add more flour until it is a consistency that you can roll into a small ball in your hands. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes, or until the bottom is lightly browned. Cool.

Glaze with a runny but not too thin mixture of powdered sugar and boiling water by dipping tops of cookies into the glaze and then lightly dip into nonparels to decorate. Place on wax paper to dry. For the glaze start with 2-3 cups of sugar and add water by the tablespoon until desired consistency. When you run out of glaze, or if it hardens as it cools add more powdered sugar and boiling water to the bowl.
