Anise Biscotti

1 stick margarine melted and cooled
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
pinch salt
2 teaspoons anise extract

With mixer, blend sugar, margarine and eggs. Add flour, baking powder, salt and anise.
Dough will be very soft. Turn out onto a floured board. Divide into 3 loaves.

Shape each loaf by rolling it in the flour until it is easy to handle. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake the loaves at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool.

Glaze with a runny but not too thin mixture of powdered sugar and boiling water. Decorate with sprinkles of nonparels while the frosting is still wet. Place on wax paper to dry. For the glaze start with 2-3 cups of sugar and add water by the tablespoon until desired consistency. when frosting has dried, slice the loaves into Biscotti.
