Snowballs

1 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup chopped dates

Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan and cook over low heat stirring constantly.

Add:

2 cups rice crispies
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Cool until you can handle the mixture. Roll into balls and roll balls into shredded coconut.
